Midwifery in Park City, Utah

About Midwifery

Midwives are responsible for

Most Births in Utah!

Midwives in Salt Lake City, Park City and western Wyoming are used to delivering

1 in 10 babies

within the US

They have more experience in labor and delivery than many others out there.  Most midwives will take more time with you and get to know you and your expectations. There are alternative birthing options, besides the hospital setting such as home birthing.  While delivering with a midwife, most don't need the help of anesthesia or epidurals.  They pride themselves on not needing any surgical cuts as well.

Traditional Methods

for the most intimate care

During delivery,

Midwives have less need for mechanical assistance such as vacuum or forceps

They take their time with you and your body to prepare it for birth.  This is done manually as it was done centuries ago.  Instead of using all these modern instruments, they tend to use care and patience to assist your body in what it was designed to do naturally.  This is why there are more births being done by midwives than in other ways.  People are moving to more natural births that are still safe and better for your body.

Feel in Control of Your Care!
Under the care of a midwife, many women feel more in control of their care.  This is the other reason that women are gravitating to midwives.  We take our time with you and really want to understand what you want your experience to be like.  Now, obviously, we cannot control the entire birthing process and things come up.  But, as things come up and arise we are there to understand how you'd like to proceed.  We are more thoughtful of your cultural differences and care about your emotions as well as your physical well being.

Birthing is an amazing experience that you will never forget in your lifetime.  It is different for everyone and can be an emotional rollercoaster.  We want you to feel warm and welcome during this experience.  It is important that you can ask questions and have demands met as you need them.  It is a process and a journey that we enjoy each and every day.  Give us a call and let's get you started with your certified nurse-midwife in Utah and Wyoming today!
